Pool Time!

Today was yet another hot and humid day. As soon as the kids got outside they asked for the pool. Again, Carter wanted to be hosed down rather than having water put in the pool.

Thank you Jackie!

The hose water was so cold that we had to add some warm water from inside to the pool.

Andrew was not a big fan of being sprayed with the hose..

See what I mean....

I scream you scream we all scream for...

ICE CREAM!!! It was so hot and humid yesterday, that after dinner Uncle Cale took Kayla to Dairy Queen and brought back treats for everyone. I bet you can't guess who enjoyed their treat the most... CARTER!!!

Talk about a kid in pure heaven. He climbed up on the swing with his treat and didn't move or say anything while he enjoyed it.

Mongo like ice cream!!

He isn't sad like he looks...this was the point where he was starting to get full!

Fun in the hot summer sun

Yesterday afternoon, Jackie took Kayla and Andrew to the park, and Carter and I decided to stay back with Uncle Adam. Carter became rather fascinated with the hose and wanted to play in it, and Uncle Adam was nice enough to oblige...

Let me see that hose....

Here he is before he got too terribly wet..

THERE YA GO!!!!!!!!!!

He thought it was the greatest thing in the world, and I am guessing that it felt great too!

Don't water the garden...keep watering me, I need to grow too!!

Snake Alley Criterium

Every year over Memorial Day weekend, Burlington hosts the Snake Alley Criterium. We have the crookedest street in the world, and so they host a huge weekend long bike racing competition that has races with courses taking you up the nasty street (which by the way goes up a rather steep hill). We took the kids down to watch for a bit, but it was so cold and dreary that we didn't stay long.

Kayla had fun just hanging out on Grandpa's shoulders wtaching all of the bicyclists.

Time for the boys to check out the riders just as they came off the hill. I think they were more fascinated with the train sounds in the background though!!

Kayla's belated Iowa birthday

Since we knew that we would be moving to Iowa not long after Kayla's birthday, my family decided to wait and do a small party for her when we got to town.

Here are the kids in their new bouncy castle. They absolutely love this things and it takes 5 minutes to set up!

The had so much fun tackling each other inside.

Even aunt Jackie joined in on the fun!!

Time for presents! Uncle Cale got Kayla the Littlest Pet Shot Treehouse

Grandma got Kayla a lifetime supply of Strawberry Shortcake movies (ok with the way she watches them more like a 1 day supply...oh and Claire she now has plenty to watch when you come visit!)

Aunt Jackie and Uncle Adam got her more Pet Shop animals and her own special bath towel.

Mommy and Daddy even got Kayla a new scooter! She loves to ride it around, and it will be easier to move than a bike.

Time for cake...Walmart didnt have any Strawberry Shortcake cakes so we went with their Pet Shop cake.

Isn't it cute :)

Hey he stole something from me!!

Saying good bye to best friends...

The night before we left Minot, we stopped by Julie's house so that the kids and I could say good bye. Needless to say the mommies shed plenty of tears at the end of the night!

In true Kayla and Claire fashion, they spent most of the night in their underwear playing!

Time to pose for everyone :)

Carter and his girlfriend "Joo-eee" He will walk around the house going "Joo-ee where a yooouuuuu!"

Update

I'm back :) I think I can safely say I am unpacked from the move. I still have a few items to better organize and put away but nothing terrible. This week I have to start packing and getting ready because we are heading out at the end of the week for San Antonio to see Adam!! The kids and I are very excited about that since we haven't seen him since the end of January. We will get a week with him while he attends a class, and then we are staying an extra week and half with my friend Kim.

The kids are doing wonderful here in Iowa. Kayla loves that she gets her own room again. Her dramatic self will exclaim "this is all so wonderful that Aunt Jackie lets me live here in this beautiful room!" I just hope she turns that drama into an Oscar when she is older, and supports mom and dad! Carter loves having his cousin who is the same age to play with all the time. Even though Andrew weighs about 10lbs more, they have a blast together!

For your enjoyment I thought that I would share a list of things I have been able to do sans kids since we moved here (for those of you that know me well this is a big deal with Adam gone!)

In no particular order:
1. Go to Walmart at 10pm
2. Go to Walmart many many times
3. Shop for clothes for myself
4. Go to the gym
5. Go tanning
6. Sleep in
7. Sleep thru the night!!
8. Go grocery shopping

and the list goes on and on and on!!

I'm a big boy now!!

This afternoon while I was getting ready, Carter walked in to the bathroom and started taking his diaper off. He looked and me and kept saying "Potty Potty Potty" so I asked if he would like to go potty like his sister to which he replied "yesh peesh" So here he is sitting on the potty. This was definitely an occasion that could have used Daddy there to teach the fine art of sitting and peeing, but mommy made it work! Who knows, maybe I will get lucky and he will potty train easy and early like his sister! Oh and by the way he did pee a little in case any of you were curious!

No time to blog

So I am sure you are all curious as to where my latest blog posts have been. The movers come on Monday so I am working like crazy to finish packing everything we are taking with us so that all of the rest of our stuff can go in to storage.

Add to that all that I have something going on every night until we leave next week. So I promise that after things settle down next week and we are settled in Iowa I will start to blog more!

Carnival Time!

Tonight the local elementary school had their annual carnival. I took the kids out for the night for something to do and they had a blast. Claire also joined us so her mommy and daddy can have a date night.

Carter enjoyed his sucker from the lollipop tree.

Time for some good old fashioned Plinko! The girls did a great job of sharing all night long!

Here is Kayla after getting her butterfly tattoo

Time for the girls to both show off their tattoos!

Carter decided to get in on the action as well!

Look at how well he handles that pain!

He loves his mommy!!!

He loved the airplaine balloon that Miss Courtney took him to get from the clown. The girls cashed in their tickets at the end for new best friend purses. Pretty much everything that they get that is alike, they consider best friend items :)
