Take that Martha Stewart!

I have successfully achieved a new level in my cooking abilities...I made homemade marshmallows!!!! I have to say that making them was super simple and really the only hard part was getting them off the wax paper once they had cooled....but with a good knife the separate is and some powdered sugar handy they turned out really good!

I have to say I am rather proud of myself for this one :)

Saying goodbye to sanity...

Ok for as long as I can remember, my children have been wonderful sleepers!! They would go to bed between 7:30 and 8 every night and sleep until 8 every morning, then they would turn around and take 2-3 hour naps each afternoon. Man those naptimes are great for my sanity!!

However, it has been very difficult to get Carter to sleep at night (last night for example he was up until well after midnight!) so I have this sad feeling that I am going to have to start cutting naptime back to an hour :(

Is it wrong that I am going to miss the quiet time that has allowed me to just sit back and relax with Adam gone? So there you have my thoughts for the day...

Town Little Kids Halloween Party

Tonight the town had a little kids Halloween party at the Community Center. The kids were very excited to get dressed up in their Halloween costumes (the party started at 6:00 and Kayla was dressed and ready at 3:00!)

Here is Bob the Builder, and the good witch.

Time to pose for a photo with the other kids.

Hey that SpiderMan is one cute superhero!

Let's give this game a try....

Forget throwing it, I am just gonna walk up there and set it on the hat!

Time to do some fishing...

What a cute construction worker!!!

Ummmm why did I get stuck with the weirdo sister?!?!?

HEY!!!
Grandma took her turn sitting on the witch's lap too

It's hard to tell from the photo, but he is doing the splits here!

Ok so is it just me or does the Devil ring toss creep you guys out a bit too? I thought it was kind of a weird/scary thing to have at a kid's party...

Scrapbooking Sundays...a day late!

Ok, I have to admit that I am a day late but I have been very busy this weekend. I also didn't get alot of scrapbooking done last week because I was sick pretty much the entire week (today is the first day I can say I really feel "better") but anyways, here are photos of the 4 pages that I got finished. I am still just working on getting Kayla's caught up, and then will start on Carters.

This is a 2 page spread I did for a trip we took last fall to the apple orchards in Gays Mills, WI

I have to admit that I actually did all of the work on these pages, no fancy already pieced together paper (although my paper is courtesy of the Target $1 bins!) And I used my Cricut to cut out the letters..I love that machine!

I also used the cricut for the basket, and the red felt apples again came from the Target $1 bin WOOT WOOT!

Here is the pages for Trick or Treat last year, the kids and I were back in Iowa for a visit then. Not my favorite pages ever, but I was lacking creativity this last week..

Again, Target $1 bin paper and felt pumpkins, and then I used the cricut again for the letters at the top...

I love the photo of the 2 of them asleep after the trick or treating!!

Hopefully I will get more done this week and will have lots to share with you all next Sunday!

My future singers

The kids decided to perform a concert for Carlean and I tonight and I was able to catch some of it on video.

This video is of Kayla singing her version of "You raise me up" but I think the words she sings go something along the lines of "You raise me up so tinkerbell can fly.." Shes singing very softly so you have to listen good...oh and did I mention tha tI am pretty sure she is tone deaf!!

This video is of Carter singing part of the song "International Harvester" Now don't be confused..we are still a John Deere family thru and thru, however they don't have a John Deere song out.

The part of the song Carter is singing goes "Hey..thats what I make, I make alot of Hay for a little pay, and I'm proud to say" His voice cracks me up!!

Dress Up Time

Daddy is really missing his kiddos so they decided to have fun and take pictures for him...although fun consists of dress up (Carter included)....

What cute princesses we have!

So Kayla looks a bit gangster while Carter looks like he belongs in the Samoa..

Is that Carter or a really cute gymnast?

Kayla put a performance on for us. If you haven't figured out yet, she is very dramatic and loves to sing/dance/perform for everyone!

Carter is attempting to show you his muscles here...then it doesn't look so funny that he is in a leotard!

And here is a video of him flexing said muscles...

Bob the Builder...

Carter and Mommy found the Bob the Builder website the other night, and he was glued to the computer!

You can't tell here but he is singing the Bob the Builder song to me :)

CHEESE!!! WE LOVE BOB!

Videos from outside

Here are a few videos that I took yesterday while we were outside.

Fall is definitely here!!

Now that fall is officially here I decided to take the kids out to play in the leaves yesterday.

An action shot of Kayla throwing the leaves on her head.

This was as good as I could get of Carter..he was more interested in chasing Titan around the yard than playing in the leaves.

Time for leaf angels..

Carter thinks this laying down thing looks like a good idea so he will try it out as well...

Part of Kayla's angel..if you can see it!

Scrapbooking Sundays

So I have made a goal for myself, of being caught up on my scrapbooks by the time Adam comes home in January...quite the lofty goal, but a girl can wish right?!?! In an effort to keep myself honest on that goal, I decided to use Sunday evenings as a means to share with you all some of the pages I have worked on in the week. Who knows, maybe it can inspire someone else to take up scrapbooking.

The best part of this page is that the paper is all one solid sheet that is printed to look like I pieced various pieces together! All I did was add the letters, cropped photos and the journaling box!

Again all one solid sheet. I just added the orange background paper to the photos, added the letters and the quotes and VOILA!

So there you have your first edition of Scrapbooking Sundays!

Pickin Potatos...

This morning we headed over to Adam's Grandparents house to dig up more potatos before the first freeze hits (whenever that's gonna be). The kids actually really enjoy doing this, although I think it has something to do with the fact that they can dig in the dirt...Anyways, in the process of digging, we came across some very interesting potatos...

Here is Kayla and her Mickey Mouse Potato...maybe that's a sign for Adam that we are meant to go to Disney World soon...

Here is Carter and the massive potato that he decided is an airplane..he would hold the stump sticking out of the top and swing it around making plane noises.

Here is K with the potatos that she decided looked like ducklings..the one on the left looks more like it although you can't tell with the way she is holding them.

Heading back to the car after we finished.

Our loot at the end of the day...just so you know that is about 75lbs of potatos that we dug!

Oh and there WAS one more interesting potato that we dug up. I don't know if it's entirely appropriate to post here so if you would like to see it let me know and I will email you the photo!

Playhouse Disney Video Clips

Here are a few video clips from last night..

Here is Kayla dancing during the show..it's a bit dark but you can see her in it.

Just a clip from the show...

One more clip from the night.. This is Kayla singing with the "Choo Choo Soul" Theme Song..aka Daddy's least favorite kid's song.

Playhouse Disney Live

Last night the kids and I drove down to the Quad Cities and met up with my family for Playhouse Disney Live. It was alot of fun and the kids really enjoyed themselves! The show featured Mickey and Friends, the Little Einsteins, Winni the Pooh, Tigger and Darby, and Handy Manny. The kids were just fascinated that they got to see them all in real life!

The kids also got their photos taken with a big Handy Manny cut-out, and when I don't feel so sick I will scan it in and post it for you.

Just snacking on popcorn before the show starts...they all LOVE popcorn!

Andrew was very serious about the show...as was Carter!

It's Mickey!!

Time for the Little Einsteins and Rocket to make an appearance.. they were all helping Mickey plan a huge music party.

Darby, Tigger and Pooh

Kayla sat on Grandpa's last most of the night singing and laughing.

Mr. Serious and his super cool mommy! Man how did he get so lucky to have such a cool mom?!?!

Handy Manny and the tools..

Time to teach Grandpa all about the Disney characters.

Andrew with his parents...AKA Aunt Jackie and Uncle Adam

Mickey and Friends..Kayla was very concerned because Daisy and Pluto weren't there..

The whole crew at the end.

Yep Carter was still serious at the end....at one point I tried to get him involved and his put his hand over my mouth and said "quiet...I try listen Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!" Well alrighty then!
