I am a few days late posting these photos (sorry Jan!) Kayla and Claire got together the other day (ok well they pretty much get together everyday, but that's another story!) We decided to make some homemade playdough for the girls to play with (its easy and way cheaper than buying it!) Claire has crazy hair because she took out her pretty braids that her mommy put in.

Kayla's New Raincoat
We were out shopping yesterday and found Kayla a super cute raincoat. We really didn't find Carter much because we aren't sure what size he will be in this summer. Here are some photos of what we got Kayla. Kayla and her "very best friend" Claire got matching Giraffe raincoats. Everyone in the store got a kick out of the girls because they walked around in their coats singing "It's Raining It's Pouring".
They even got Giraffe dresses to go with their coats. Kayla had to get a green dress though because they didn't have pink in her size.
They also had swimsuits on sale so she got another one.

More Swim Lessons
I thought I would share some more photos of Kayla's swim lesson progress. She is doing very good, partly due to zero fear of the water! Here she is kicking around the pool with her teacher Miss Sue
She does very good holding on to the side while the teacher works with the other girls in class.
Time to float on her back. She is a pro at this already thanks to daddy!
Time to jump in the pool like a big girl! When she jumps in she goes all the way under water and says she is looking for fish!
Time to kick across the pool by herself with the life jacket on. This is her favorite part of the class!

Carter's First Haircut
Carter's hair was starting to get really shaggy and nasty. So in my infiinite wisdom I thought that it would be a good idea to cut his hair by myself...BOY WAS THAT AN EXPERIENCE!
Here is the before photo of the front...
Before photo of the back (or his rat tail as Courtney calls it!)
Here is after of the front...not a huge difference because he wouldn't sit still!
After photo of the back..
Another after photo...since his hair is wavy it is bending up in back...

Happy Easter!
First off, Happy Easter to all of our friends and family! We wish we could be there to celebrate with all of you! This morning the kids woke up early to do their easter egg hunts etc. before we went to church. Here are the baskets that the Easter Bunny left for both of them. Kayla thought it was amazing that he gave them baskets "just like my daddy has in the desert" It's amazing how smart those Easter Bunny's can be!!
She was so calm when she came down and found her basket. She just stood their calmly examing all of the contents. At one point she commented "oh look he just get me my pet shop cow like I tell him he have to get me" It's good to note here that she is rather demanding when it comes to her requests at hoidays!
Carter loved all of the cars he got. He is convinced though that his Papa is in the tractor and combine he got. He looks at them and yells "Hi papa!"
We managed to get him to find one egg and then he was done. As far as he was concerned one was plenty.
Kayla on the other hand was on a mission to find eggs!
They each got 3 eggs with money and then they each also got 6 eggs with toys. Kayla's eggs had pet shop animals and Carter's eggs had Fisher Price little people in them. That worked out very nice instead of tons of candy!
Here is Kayla all dressed and ready to head to church. She loved her Easter hat that I got for her!
After church we met a bunch of friends at the O-Club for Easter brunch. Kayla hung out with the bunny most of the time, just telling him all about life.
Here is Kayla and her "boyfriend" Mr. Jordan. She was not happy that we were getting ready to leave. She will tell anyone that will listen that Jordan is her boyfriend. She sat next to him at brunch and was not very happy when she had to leave him!

Kayla and Carter Easter Photos
My friend Carmen works at Sears and took the kids Easter photos this past week. Here are the proofs.
I ordered this one in black and white because I didn't like that the chair didn't match his clothes! We also re-centered the photo so there wasn't so much blank space to the left..
He's getting so big! I got both of their outfits from Children's Place online..I love that store and can't wait until I have one to physically shop in!
This was my favorite of Carter and I ordered quite a few of it. I really like it because of the bear in it...he loves stuffed animals and is carrying one around all the time so I thought it was fitting that he was pulling one in a wagon. We did re-crop this photo so that you don't see my foot on the right side of the photo.
This would have been a good picture except for his droopy hair that looks like a bad comb over!
Here is my big girl! I can't believe how much older she looks here!
We ordered this photo in black and white. Her smile is so cute here!
Here is my favorite photo of her! I ordered alot of these for everyone.
This was a cute photo but she just seemed to slunched over (is that a word??)
Would have been a great photo of the 2 of them minus Carters hands...
I liked this one, but when you bring it up big like a 10x13 would be you see that Kayla was doing something weird with her eyebrows that drove me crazy!
I made the mistake of talking on the side and Kayla looked away.. I love Carter's expression in this photo!

Here is the photo we ordered of the kids. Because their feet were cut off we cropped the photo so that the bottom of the photo is at the hem line of Kayla's dress.

Easter Cookies
Kayla's "Very Best Friend" Claire came over to visit tonight while her mommy and daddy went out to dinner. We decided to decorate Easter Cookies. I found a really nice kit at Target that already had the cookies made and it came with more than enough frosting as well as candy pieces for decorations!
There were always licks and stolen pieces of candy to swipe when no one was looking. I caught Claire red-handed!
Here are the girls showing off their first creation of the night.
Carter was more interested in licking the frosting off. This was also a really bad photo of him!
Time to decorate more cookies. The girls decided that these are for the girl Easter bunnies!
Here is Miss Claire with her 3 creations. The one on the left if her one to set out for the Easter Bunny she informed me.
Here is Miss Kaya with her creations. Her Easter Bunny cookie is on the left.
Happy Easter everyone!

Carter's Big Boy Blankets
Well after 2 kids, the sheets and blankets from the crib set has seen better days. Since Carter is now in the toddler bed for good I decided that he needed some big boy sheets and blanket for his bed. I got a really cute set with construction equipment on it at Target. He is not so happy in these pictures because he did not get a nap today and it was bedtime!
