Movie Night in Mommy's Room

I had almost forgotten that we had a stack of Disney VHS tapes from when I was little. After seeing The Lion King dance recital Kayla is obsessed with it. Well as it turns out, The Lion King was one of the VHS tapes we have!

Here are the kids curled up on my bedroom floor for movie time in their sleeping bags. Kayla has a Strawberry Shortcake one and Carter has a Diego one.

Just chilling on the floor!

Kayla is so intent on the movie. She has been walking around all night singing "Da tuna Da tata" aka Hakuna Matata....

Now lets just hope that they fall asleep this way!

A first for Carter

As many of you know, Carter is by no means a sit down and watch a cartoon type of kid. He is ALWAYS on the go!! Lately however he has sat down for 5 minutes or so, which is real progress for me when I need to cook dinner! Well today he was so exhausted from playing at Claire's house all day that he sat down on the couch with his apple and fell asleep 2 minutes later!

Isn't he so adorable when he isn't moving, breaking things, falling, etc etc etc...
Such a sleeping beauty!

My economic stimulus present or We don't really need men...you choose your title!

I am very proud of myself! Today I went in to town and bought a trailer all by myself (ok with the help of Julie!) but anyways...I bought the trailer and the accessories I needed for it and got it registered, and then we hooked it up and brought it home. The reason for the 2 titles to this blog is this...the government said they want us to spend the economic stimulus checks to boost the economy...so there ya go! I did my part for the economy. The other title is because I am rather proud of myself for doing what would usually be considered a "man job". So there ya have it!
Here is an outside view of the trailer. It's a 5x8 trailer.

And a view of the inside for you (pre packing!).

I'm a big girl now...

The other night Kayla sent her daddy an email asking him is she could get her ears pierced. Here is the email she sent:

daddy..please i get my ears pierce like my mommy...i wear my sticker earrings like a big girl...please you let me get like mommy... Love,KK PS. Your the bestest daddy ever!!

And just in case you think she is some genius..I typed the email, she just told me what to say!

Well daddy decided that since she is 3 and asked for them that he could probably agree to it. Well that was all we needed :) We had to run in to town today anyways so we decided that today would be the big day. On the way to town Kayla informed Julie and I that she was getting diamonds in her ears because she "loooovvveeeesss diamonds!" I promise I have no idea where that came from!

So we got to Claire's in the mall and the lady handed her the sheet with all of the different earrings to choose from and Kayla handed it back to her and proclaimed "I just want diamonds cause I love diamonds!" The lady got a kick out of that!

Here is the big girl sitting on the chair waiting for the big event. They gave her a bear with pierced ears to hold on to.

Kayla's best friend Claire was with us to make sure we took care of Kayla. She got sticker earrings today to wear.

Time for mommy to explain a little how things are going to go.

She sat perfectly still while the lady marked her ears. I don't have any photos of the actual event. I have to say though, that she cried for a brief second (no screaming at all!) just some tears and wimpering. Once they offered her a sucker though, she was done crying!

Here she is showing off her new "diamonds" aka CZ. They are small but hopefully you can see them! So I guess now she is officially a big girl!

Time to pack...

Kayla came to the conclusion today that it was time to pack up her toys for the big move to Aunt Jackie's...little does she know that we are not taking all of her toys!

She methodically went thru every tub and basket making sure to pull out her toys and Carters that she thought they might need, and then packed them in a rubbermaid tun.

Here she is packing more dolly clothes...she was humming cartoon songs the whole time :)

Time for the little packer to pose for a picture :)
