Waiting in Anticipation

For those of you that have been hiding under a rock lately and haven't heard...Adam will be home this week for 15 days of R&R leave!! In the words of my lively 3 year old WOOT WOOT!!! We don't know the exact day yet, because of flight schedules etc, but are anticipating his return sometime Tues/Wedish. To say the kids are excited is an understatement. Kayla has designed special outfits for them to wear to the airport. I would share the details of them, but you never know when Adam may read the blog and we want it to be a surprise ;)

I promise to share lots of photos with you all of the 2 weeks we will have together as a family. The even better part is that once he heads back, he will have a little less than 4 months left until he is home for good (well ok at least home until the next TDY/Deployment!)

Kayla's First Day of Preschool

Today was Kayla's 1st day of preschool, and she couldn't have been more excited!!! As soon as she woke up she wolfed down breakfast and then was very impatient with me because I took too long to get her dressed. After she got dressed she put on her backpack and sat on the chair for 30 min waiting for me to take her! I hope she stays this excited the whole time thru school.

Here she is all dressed up in her special 1st day of school dress and her backpack.

I love her new haircut so much! She looks so cute with it.

She was a little unsure of the new surroundings at first...that is her "I don't know about this now" look...

But give her about 5 min and she was off and running! She even kind of pushed me towards the door to leave :(

Here she is after her first day of school...she is now a "Little Bulldog" which she will tell you repeatedly! She talked non-stop the whole drive home.....I would say it was a success!

Labor Day

Due to my really bad allergies, and the fact that we had unpacking to do, we didn't do much this labor day weekend. On the way home from Wal-Mart yesterday though, we stopped off at a road-side area that had ponies and a very sad looking elephant. I was not going to pay the money for the kids to ride the animals, but we let them walk up and see them.

Here is the little girl talking to Kayla and Grammy about the ponies.

Time to pet the ponies.

Carter decided that he needed to get in on the action as well.

The ponies were very gentle and quiet.

"Pony so soft gamma" says Carter.

Bowling

The night before the kids and I moved, the whole family went out for dinner and bowling at FunCity in town. I think bowling might have to become a regular activity for us, because the kids loved it...especially Carter, who by the way, beat Kayla and Andrew by 20 points!!

They did a separate alley for the kids, with bumpers, and this neat ramp that made it easier for them to roll their ball.

The kids loved that their ball only weighed 6 lbs, so they could carry it themselves.

Although, Carter's arms weren't quite long enough, so Grammy was kind enough to help him out!

Time for everyone to get in on the action!

Here is Uncle Adam hanging out with Uncle Cale's girlfriend Courtney (who Carter describes as HOT!)

He was so proud of himself everytime it was his turn!

Andrew wanted to make sure that no one got his ball before him!

More bowling action..

You can't exactly tell here, but everytime he bowled Carter would do a little dance and yell I DID IT I DID IT!!

GO ANDREW!

Time for Uncle Adam to help Carter out.

Notice Kayla's new haircut...now it doesn't look stringy and ratty!

I think we are all done Carter..lets put everything back!
