Long Week....

It has been a very long week in our house this week! On Tuesday, Kayla got made at Carter over a toy (like every 2 year old does with a sibling) and decided that to get the toy away from him she needed to smack his head against the tile floor! Needless to say we ended up in the ER and Carter has a dandy of a concussion. The photo above was taken today (Friday) so he is starting to feel better. You can see the bruise on his forehead.

We have had several conversations with Kayla this week about how we act around our brother. She seems to understand so hopefully we never have to worry about this again!

New Years Eve

We got back to North Dakota the morning of New Years Eve. After some much needed rest we headed out to JR Rockers on base for dinner in the evening. Kayla was very excited to get her face painted!
At dinner they were giving away door prizes and she won a Disney Princess "Pretty Pretty Princess" game. She is modeling some of her jewels from the game.
Later that night we went to bowling at the bowling alley on base. It was a ton of fun! Kayla was hilarious to watch bowl. After she rolled the ball she would sit down in front of the lane clasping her hands going "please knock them down please knock them down..." At midnight before everyone headed home they gave noise-makers out for fun.
Carter however crashed in his stroller before midnight...not quite a night owl yet!

I'm dreaming of a.......

Warm and Sunny Christmas!! Ok so seriously we got nearly a foot of snow last night. Couple that with winds just like Minot and the weather sucks!! I was hoping that by leaving Minot for Christmas we would at least escape some of the nastiness of winter...however I was WRONG! The wind and snow is so nasty that it has drifted the roads shut so no one is getting in or out of the farm today. Thankfully we have pretty much everything we need!
Kayla and I ventured out in it earlier tonight to go down to the barn while the guys were milking. She absolutely loves everything about the barn and really gets a kick out of being down there while they milk. Tonight she helped let the "Ladies" as she calls them in and out of their milking stalls. She got to meet a set of twin calves that are just a few days old. And of course no trip to the farm would be complete without chasing down nasty in-bred farm cats. She is convinced that when they walk away it is due to the fact that "they miss their family and just want to go see their brothers and sisters" Go figure...

I hope everyone is having a good weekend and getting ready for Christmas. In the words of Kayla... "Merry Christmas everyone....I just think we have to open presents now!"

HAPPY BIRTHDAY ADAM!

If you can't tell by the title today is Adam's 27th Birthday. He informed me the other day he feels older this bithday. Makes me wonder what he is going to feel when he turns 30! He doesn't know it yet but we have lots of surprises planned for his big day today. The kids and I figure that we have to make up for next year when he will still be deployed ;) If you see Adam today please wish him a Happy Birthday!

Kayla's First Sleepover

Kayla had her first sleepover tonight with her "very best friend Claire" as she calls her :) They had an absolute blast playing down in the playroom, eating pizza (which by the way Claire's mom she ate a ton of!) and ice cream. They even got Adam to watch Mickey's Christmas with them! Then it was off to bed which they were more than happy to do since they were cuddling up together!
