Holy Pain Batman!

So we are just about moved into our new home, still have the office and garage left to finish at the old house. The nice thing about this move is that we can move a bit, put it away and then go get more. Much better than just having a semi-truck full of your stuff deposited at once in your living room.

So less than a week after we closed, I went in for some surgery on my neck....not going to get into any details on here though. So anyways, it has been forever and a day since I have had general surgery done, and I forgot one key fact...THE PAIN!!! Oh my goodness is the pain insane. I figured the Dr was crazy when she suggested taking up to 2 weeks off of work. I will be taking at least a week off, and then trying to work half days the 2nd week. My biggest problems right now are that due to swelling, it is really hard to chew and swallow any food so I am pretty much relegated soups. The other problem is that I can't turn my neck so I have to move my whole body to be able to see anything.

As I type this, I am sitting here dealing with the pain that hits about 45 minutes before my next pain pill, and it is NO FUN! So I decided to type a rambling blog post :)

Once the pain issue settles down, and we finish moving, I will share a few photos of the new abode.

January '10 Happenings

As promised, I am going to attempt to start blogging more regularly! This month, in between working, and getting ready to move, I have tried to get the kiddos out of the house on the weekends to help the time fly until Adam gets home. The past 2 weekends we have gone out with my friend and her 2 kiddos.

2 weeks ago, we took the kids to the Chilrend's Museum downtown. They had so much fun!

Here they are waiting for their friends to get to the museum.

Kayla loved the big treehouse inside the museum :)

I didn't feel the need to rotate this photo, but here is Carter playing in the giant bubble thing

The kids loved that they had a huge cow that you could milk, and there was even water that came out when you did it.

Carter even got in on the action. They both now figure that they can take over the farm for Papa :)

Someone loved the big model airplane to play in!

Kayla pretended that she was a flight attendant and would walk up and down the aisles asking people what they wanted to drink.

Yesterday, we took the kiddos to a giant indoor inflatable play land. Carter was blown away by the Cars inflatable play area.

Can you tell that he is happy :)

Have a great week everyone!

Oh my goodness...

I just realized that it has been nearly 3 months since the last time that I blogged on here!! Life has been crazy the last few months for us. Adam has been gone for training, we had the holidays, I am working full-time and most importantly.....we are buying a house :) That's right...we are about to be first time homebuyer...and enjoy that very nice first time home buyer home credit! I don't want to give out too many details about the house for fear of jinxing it, but once we have closed and settled in, I will share lots of details! Oh and one of my resolutions, is to get back into blogging on here lately. I expect you all to keep me honest on that one!!

Happy Birthday Carter!!

Today is our little guys 3rd birthday! I can't believe that he is 3 already! Time flies when you are having fun :) I thought it would be fun to share some "before and after" type photos with you all.

So to get things started, we have mommy's little beefcake right after he was born....and yes folks that scale really does say 10lbs 5 oz!

And here you have the birthday boy this morning after he opened his presents :)

This kid loves Geo Trax so much that it makes shopping for him super easy. Fisher Price made it even easier this year when they added a whole line of Disney's Cars for Geo Trax....I really don't think you could have made him any happier!

This morning K and I snuck out of the house and got him his Cars balloons. Then we came back and made pancakes and sausage for the birthday boy (mickey mouse pancakes even). He wanted to go to Target in the afternoon to use his gift card, and he bought more Cars Geo Trax with it. Then we spent a bit of time perusing Toys R Us (which was ridiculously busy by the way). When we headed out to eat though, he stomped his foot and informed us that he didn't want to go out to eat, he just wanted to take pizza home to eat.....well alrighty then :) We got some yummy pizza from our favorite place in town Rome's (they make very good cheese-less pizza for Carter too). When we got home, he got his Lightning McQueen candle on his pizza which he loved. We finished the night off with cupcakes, and right now I am sitting here watching them all play Ghostbusters on the wii :) I am pretty sure that Carter's birthday couldn't have gotten any better. Oh but while I think of it, here is my favorite quote from him today as we were eating dinners "Hey guys sanks for coming to my birfday" I LOVE IT!

So to finish things off, here are some tidbits about the little fella:

- He is the definition of little boy...loves cars, tools, destruction, dirt etc...

- He is extremely sweet and respectful (as evidenced by the quote above)

- He is true-blue momma's boy, and I wouldn't have it any other way :)

- He is completely oblivious to the little girls at daycare that have crushes on him

- He has a great vocabulary for a 3 year old

- We are slowly finishing up potty training, with him wearing underwear all day, and diapers only at naptime and bedtime.

- Finally, in spite of all of his craziness at times, we love him so much, and wouldn't want him any other way :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY CARTER!

Disney World

Oh my goodness she is finally posting something on her blog! I am sure that is what most of you are thinking :) Well we have been really busy around here lately. I have started working full-time again, and we just got back from Disney World :) I really don't have time to describe the whole trip, nor do you probably care for all of the details...so here are some bits and pieces :)

Our first night there we ate dinner at the Grand Floridian with Cinderlla, Prince Charming, the Step-Sister and the Stepmother....it was awesome!

The next morning we started in EPCOT with breakfast with all of the other Princesses....in the words of Carter "They all so beautiful!"

Oh and Snow White got to meet Snow White :)

Day 3 found us at the Magic Kingdom where we found the Fairy Godmother :) Evidently Carter thought she would be a good place to rest :)

What a beautiful sight :)

Day 4 we were at Hollywood Studio and Carter's dreams were made! He met Lightning McQueen and Mater! Think he could be any happier?

During the Block Party Parade at Hollywood Studios, the kids got picked to dance in the street with Jesse from Toy Story 2.

At Animal Kingdom they met Rafiki and lots of other animals and characters.

Oh and of course we can't forget Nemo and friends...that ride was so much fun, and Turtle Talk with Crush was hilarious!

For our final night, we ate dinner at Chef Mickey's with Mickey and all of his pals :)

Then we finished the night at Magic Kingdom, where Carter got to "drive" a race car around the track and he is pretty sure that he drove King from Cars because the whole time he yelled "Dynaco Blue" and when a car stopped in front of us he yelled at them "Chick Hicks get out of my way, I'm the King!"

So there you have the condensed version of the trip, if you desire more details or photos just let me know :)
