Building a Patio- Day 1

Ok so Adam and Jackie have decided to put a patio in their backyard (12 feet by 16 feet). We are attempting to get it all done before the 4th of July (which is Friday by the way!). So last night we went to Lowe's to get the brick, edging etc etc etc. Then we all got to unload 1000 (yep thats right!) bricks out of the back of Adam's truck..that sucked!!

Today we started the real work. We had to tear out a whole section of sidewalk and then start tearing out the yard. It was definitely a work out today as well! The goal for tomorrow is to finish removing grass and dirt and then start pouring the sand and leveling it out. If all goes as planned we will lay the bricks on Tues and Wed and be enjoying the new patio by Thursday!

Here is a before photo of the area we are putting the patio in. Starting from the bottom of the photo and following the sidewalk to wear it is cut off on the photo is the amound of sidewalk we tore out today.

Here everyone is after the sidewalk was out. We also have to move the clothes line pole. Thats Adam, Cale and Cales friend Edward working on it.

I guess it takes 3 guys to get a pole out of the ground.....who knew! Stay tuned for tomorrows update!
